MedNow Recognized in Crain’s 2016 Health Care Hero Awards

MedNow Senior Director Joseph Brennan Honored

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., July 20, 2016 – Crain’s Detroit Business this week recognized Joseph Brennan, senior director of Spectrum Health’s proprietary telehealth service MedNow, as a 2016 Health Care Hero honoree in the category of advancements in health care.

Thanks to his hard work and the hard work of his entire team, MedNow has exceeded our expectations in its inaugural year,” said Jay LeBine, MD, associate chief medical officer for Spectrum Health.

MedNow is an innovative service that uses Spectrum Health Medical Group doctors, part of the nationally-ranked Spectrum Health System, to provide care anytime. Consumers in Michigan can access care from MedNow if they have a credit or debit card and a cell phone or computer with a Wi-Fi connection.

Through the work of Brennan and others, MedNow has helped more than 7,000 patients, including those with non-emergency illnesses and conditions such as sinus infection, sore throat, rash or bee sting. MedNow’s services also include follow-up video appointments with specialists and video visits with a psychiatrist.
