A new general surgeon has joined Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital Multispecialty Clinic.

Spectrum Health Medical Group and Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital are pleased to welcome KellyAnn Vandendool, MD to the medical staff. She will begin August 21, 2017 and will start seeing patients Monday August 28, following orientation to her new office and the Spectrum Health system.

Dr. Vandendool joins Bret Autrey, DO, FACS, Nizar Umran, MD, FACS and Daniel Reum, DO in the Multispecialty Clinic.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Vandendool to Spectrum Health Medical Group,” said Mary O’Callaghan, DO, Spectrum Health Medical Group division chief, northwest region. “She is a skilled surgeon and someone who truly enjoys caring for patients.”

Dr. Vandendool earned her medical degree from American University of Integrative Sciences, Sint Maarten School of Medicine in Sint Eustatius, Dutch Caribbean. She completed her general surgery residency at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. Dr. Vandendool relocated from West Virginia to Ludington this summer with her fiancé, Mason Husby.

Dr. Vandendool has experience in a full range of general surgical procedures. She said she takes a particular interest in outpatient surgery such as gallbladder removal and hernia repair, colon surgery and endoscopy, as well as acute care surgery.

She was attracted to the Ludington area because she enjoys water sports, including swimming and boating, and all of the natural amenities offered in West Michigan. “I’m thrilled to be living in such a beautiful area,” said Dr. Vandendool. “It’s been a great summer in Ludington, and I’m excited to start meeting patients and helping with their surgical care needs.”

Dr. Vandendool is now accepting new patients. Appointments can be made by calling 231.843.3717.
