Spectrum Health Employees Volunteer on MLK Day

Spectrum Health is observing the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday by offering its employees volunteer opportunities on Monday, January 18, and throughout the week.
More than 340 Spectrum Health employees have committed to volunteering at locations throughout the health system’s service area in Big Rapids, Fremont, Grand Rapids, Greenville, Holland, Lakeview, Ludington, Reed City and Southfield.

“Serving our community is woven into the fabric of who we are,” said Jennifer Jackson, director, employee lifecycle, inclusion and diversity, Spectrum Health. “By participating in the national MLK Day of Service movement we are reminded of Dr. King’s significant contributions and we honor his legacy.”

Activities include painting and maintenance work at Mel Trotter Ministries in Grand Rapids, providing language interpreter services at Health Intervention Services in Grand Rapids, taking inventory of donations at Feeding America West Michigan in Comstock Park, organizing museum exhibits at Sandcastle Children’s Museum in Ludington and many others.
