Spectrum Health’s STR!VE Opens July 10 in Downtown Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. July 10, 2017– Spectrum Health announces the opening of STR!VE, a unique model in primary care services in downtown Grand Rapids, designed to make it easy to be healthy and well. STR!VE was created  in response to an increasingly consumer-driven market demanding convenient access to primary care infused with wellness.

STR!VE opens on July 10 at 161 Ottawa Ave. NW, Suite 173, on the ground floor of the Waters Center. Membership to STR!VE provides benefits that go above and beyond what most health insurance plans will cover. The $159 annual fee is not covered by health insurance plans; however, STR!VE providers accept many types of insurance for billable services. Group membership rates are available for employers.

“People want personalization and convenience when it comes to their health,” said Roger Jansen, PhD, Spectrum Health executive vice president and chief strategy officer. “STR!VE is a place individuals can go when they’re not feeling well, but more importantly, the STR!VE team meets individuals where they are in their journey to get and stay healthy.”

The STR!VE experience includes the full array of primary care options available at Spectrum Health Medical Group offices, with some unique offerings:

  • Personalized wellness plans.
  • Every visit is tailored to meet members’ needs, helping them set and reach their goals for health and well-being.
  • Access to a vetted core of local groups or organizations dedicated to their health and wellness and a calendar of events sponsored by community partners.

STR!VE offers people the ability to self-schedule same or next day appointments via a MyHealth account and walk-in service for labs, immunizations and allergy shots (no appointment necessary), eVisits and 24/7 virtual and telemedicine services through MedNow.

“A hallmark of Spectrum Health’s vision is the idea to ‘provide care anywhere’ through a variety of means to engage with people,” said Jansen. “The STR!VE experience is designed to complement existing relationships with the individual’s health care team.”

The 4,500-square-foot space supports digital technology and personalized appointments—from the lobby to client meeting spaces.

Str!ve will be used as a learning lab to test new ideas and develop a deeper understanding of consumer needs that can be applied to future sites and elsewhere at Spectrum Health.

“STR!VE is a model we hope to replicate,” Jansen said. “We intentionally launched our first site in downtown Grand Rapids, which has been the focus of such dynamic economic change over the past several decades.”
