Third Annual Tamarac Turkey Trot

Thanksgiving is all about traditions and, this year, Tamarac is continuing a special tradition for you and those you care about most.  It’s the third annual Tamarac Turkey Trot – a way to celebrate community health and work off that huge turkey dinner before you eat it!  This annual event will take place at Tamarac, The Center for Health and Well-Being, 1401 W Main Street, Thursday, November 22, 2012.

Events include the Tamarac Turkey Trot 8K Run, Gobbler and Hen 2 Mile Walk and Poult Prance ½ mile Fun Run for parents and kids. New this year is chip timing for the 8k race which will allow participants to see instant results.

The first two races begin at 9 a.m.  Walk-up registrations are encouraged! Participants who enroll before Friday, November 9, will receive this year’s special Tamarac Turkey Trot long-sleeved technical shirt.

Encourage your friends and family members to come to Fremont on Thanksgiving morning for this; unforgettable experience.  Awards will be given to the top overall male and female open and master; finishers, and the top three age group finishers, in addition to the Best “Dressed” Turkey.

This year’s Turkey Trot committee is selling “turkey flags” for only $1 to honor those who have been touched by cancer.  These are available for purchase at the Tamarac Welcome Center, Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Gift Shop and Cancer Care Center.  All proceeds benefit the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Cancer Care Center.
