Allegan General Hospital Partners with Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital

Allegan General Hospital became the 32nd hospital to join Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital’s Partners in Children’s Health today. The affiliation broadens a larger effort of Michigan hospitals to enhance the care of children and families throughout the state. Through the Partners in Children’s Health Network, hospitals improve access to pediatric specialty services and continuing professional education.

“We are very excited to be joining the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital’s Partners in Children’s Health Network,” said Gerald Barbini, president and CEO of Allegan General Hospital.  “This affiliation is one more step in our ongoing efforts to provide the highest level of quality care for the children in our community.”

As part of the affiliation agreement, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital offers assistance with quality initiatives, clinical outreach and pediatric specific continuing medical education programming for the hospitals pediatricians and other clinical staff. The affiliation also provides an opportunity for periodic community education programs and advocacy for children’s health and safety in Allegan.

“Together, Allegan General Hospital and Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital will work to strengthen medical care for children in Allegan and neighboring communities,” said Bob Connors, MD, president, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. “The agreement more formally links Allegan General Hospital to a regional system of care for children, providing comprehensive pediatric care close to home.”
