Heart Transplant Recipient Rahn Bentley Chronicles His Journey with a New Book

Book Signing to be Held at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital

Rahn Bentley’s life changed dramatically when he became the first heart transplant recipient at the Spectrum Health Fred and Lena Meijer Heart Center. He is celebrating the one-year anniversary of his transplant with the release of a book titled “Off to See the Wizard”.

The book chronicles Bentley’s experience with progressive heart failure and the steps taken to stay alive until a donor heart became available. He also explains what it means to benefit from a life-saving gift from a donor.
Bentley will host a public book signing at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital gift shop on December 15 from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. “Off to See the Wizard” retails for $9.95 and proceeds benefit the Sallie Bender Guild at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital.
