Spectrum Health Pennock Convenient Care Walk-in Clinic in Ionia expands service hours

IONIA, Mich., June 12, 2017 – To meet growing needs of the community the Convenient Care Walk-In Clinic in Ionia is expanding its hours. The new expanded hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Located within the Spectrum Health Integrated Care Campus at 2776 S. State Road in Ionia, increased hours will allow for greater access to immediate care for non-emergencies closer to home.

“One of our main focus areas at Spectrum Health is to increase access to primary care services,” stated Douglas Smendik, MD, division chief, regions, Spectrum Health Medical Group. “Expanding the clinic’s hours allows patients to access the Convenient Care Walk-In Clinic when it is convenient for them. The clinic is designed to assist existing patients, new patients and visiting patients, regardless of insurance status and primary care provider. Our primary care providers will work with the patient’s existing physician for follow-up care or offer the opportunity to receive primary care services from Spectrum Health if a patient does not have a physician.”

“These expanded hours will allow us to better serve our community and reach more individuals when they need care. Our goal is to provide convenient access to care for patients in our community,” said Smendik.
