Spectrum Health to Open Walk-in Clinic in Caledonia

CALEDONIA, Mich., April 30, 2018 –Spectrum Health is opening a new walk-in clinic in Caledonia that will offer new health care options for the community.

The Spectrum Health Walk-in Clinic – Caledonia will open Tuesday, May 1, offering immediate care without an appointment for people who feel ill or have minor injuries but don’t require emergency care.

The walk-in clinic will be located within the recently renovated Spectrum Health facility at 9090 South Rodgers Court, just off of M-37 in Caledonia. This location offers convenient access to additional Spectrum Health services, including Spectrum Health Medical Group Family & Internal Medicine, Spectrum Health Medical Group Radiology and Spectrum Health hospitals lab services.

“We are pleased to bring our walk-in clinic services to Caledonia and provide convenient care close to where people live and work,” said Darryl Elmouchi, president, Spectrum Health Medical Group. “Our walk-in clinics throughout West Michigan have been well-received because of their easy access and convenient hours. We want to make it easier for people to get the care they need, when and where they need it.”

The new walk-in clinic will be open to both existing patients and new patients, regardless of their primary care provider (PCP). The clinic will provide follow-up with each patient’s PCP, or offer those without a provider the opportunity to begin primary care services with Spectrum Health.
Anticipated conditions treated at the clinic include:

  • Allergies
  • Adult flu shots
  • Animal bite
  • Coughs/congestion/sinus/sore throat
  • Diarrhea
  • Earaches
  • Fevers
  • Flu symptoms
  • Headaches/migraines
  • Minor injuries (bruises, burns, cuts, sprains)
  • Oral contraceptives (one time fill)
  • Pink eye
  • Rashes/hives
  • Skin infections/insect bites
  • Sports physicals
  • Upper respiratory infections
  • Urinary tract/bladder infections
  • Vomiting/nausea

“The walk-in clinic provides an affordable way to receive immediate care,” Elmouchi said. “This reduces wait times, and helps patients avoid higher co-pays that come with an emergency room or an urgent care visit. This new access option for less serious ailments has the additional benefit of giving our emergency and urgent care staff more time to focus on patients needing a higher level of care.”

The cost of the walk-in clinic visit is similar to seeing their primary care physician.

The Caledonia walk-in clinic will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

More information is available online at spectrumhealth.org/caledonia. The clinic phone number is 616.891.0422.
