Health and wellness showcased at Big Rapids Farmer’s Market.
BIG RAPIDS, Mich., July 8, 2022 – There’s nothing fresher than something handpicked. The next best thing is taking advantage of fresh fruits and vegetables at the Big Rapids Farmer’s Market. Now stir in some helpful health tips from Spectrum Health and you’re ready to eat better and live right.
Free blood pressure checks, recipe sampling and label reading tips will be available at Handpicked: Community Market and Health Fair July 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Big Rapids at the Big Rapids City Hall parking lot during the farmer’s market.
“We’re celebrating the summer harvest,” said Cathy Myers of Spectrum Health Big Rapids Hospital Community Health. “Providing healthy eating tips and health information to folks at the Big Rapids Farmer’s Market is a natural fit. We encourage people to stop by the health and wellness fair and take advantage of this free opportunity.”
In addition to free blood pressure checks, recipe sampling and label reading tips, there will be raffles, prizes and other giveaways.
Fresh fruits and vegetables will be available for sale from area growers as usual at the farmer’s market.
Spectrum Health is partnering with Michigan State University Extension and District Health Department #10 in sponsoring the event.
