Breast Surgeon Joins Spectrum Health Medical Group
Jane Pettinga, MD, local breast surgeon, has joined the Spectrum Health Medical Group effective today.

Her leadership and skills in the area of breast cancer treatment is invaluable to our patients and our team.”
Dr. Pettinga, who has specialized in breast surgery for 24 years, will have an office at the Spectrum Health Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion.
Jane Pettinga received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Calvin College and her medical degree from Wayne State University. She completed her surgical residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.’ Dr. Pettinga has focused her practice on surgery for diseases of the breast for over 20 years. She is the former director of the breast care center at Beaumont Hospital and has served as the clinical program director of breast health services at Spectrum Health since 2006.’ She is currently clinical adviser for breast oncology for Spectrum Health.
Dr. Pettinga is board certified by the American Board of Surgery, is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the Society for the Study of Breast Disease. Her special interests are serving her patients with the latest techniques in the prevention, early diagnosis and surgical treatment of breast cancer along with evaluating patients for their risk of breast cancer including cancer genetics.
The Spectrum Health Medical Group employs approximately 80 physicians and mid-level providers, such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
