Spectrum Health Hospice Announces Administrative Medical Director
Spectrum Health Continuing Care has named Leonard D. Wright, MD, administrative medical director of Spectrum Health Hospice.
“With his depth of experience, Dr. Wright will ensure that our hospice program provides the quality medical services that our patients deserve and their families expect,” said Jeffery S. Lemon, president, Spectrum Health Continuing Care. “We look forward to his contributions as our program continues to grow to meet the needs of our community.”
Spectrum Health Hospice provides compassionate, patient-centered care to patients facing life-limiting illness or terminal diagnosis. Hospice care is provided for patients in their homes, in long term care or assisted living facilities, or in hospitals.
Wright has extensive experience in palliative and hospice care. He was most recently medical director for the Peter Wege Institute for Mind, Body and Spirit at St. Mary’s Health Care in Grand Rapids. Wright received his undergraduate degree at Albion College and his medical degree at the University of Michigan. He completed residencies in internal medicine and emergency medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and Christ Hospital in Oaklawn, Illinois.
Spectrum Health Hospice is the only hospice and palliative care program affiliated with a health system in West Michigan. The hospice program is part of Spectrum Health Continuing Care, which is the region’s largest provider of long term acute, rehabilitative, skilled nursing, home and residential care services.
