Fourth Annual 5K Run Scheduled for Saturday, August 16
The fourth annual Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital 5K Run will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2008. Runners of all ages and ability levels are encouraged to participate. 5K’s are a great way to meet people and stay in good shape and it’s one of the most popular races in the country. If you’re used to running three half-hour runs per week, you could probably accomplish a 5K run. And experts agree that you can run a 5K with as little as six weeks of concentrated training.
The cost to run is minimal. $8 per person for team entries of four per team; $10 for pre-registered individual runners and $15 for day of the race entries. Tee shirts are guaranteed for all pre-registered 5K runners. Day of the race entries are acceptable with the remaining shirts available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Deadline to guarantee receipt of shirt is August 1, 2008.
Registration forms and map of the race route may be downloaded from our website or by phoning (231) 832-7149. Trophies and medals will be awarded for first, second and third place finishers for individuals and team entries. Runner categories include ages 0-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 plus years.
The start of the race will begin at our hospital in Reed City, Michigan. The course winds through the Pere Marquette and White Pine Trail system, portions of downtown Reed City with the finish line at Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital.
