Just In C.A.S.E. Community Awareness Event
Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital is hosting the 4th annual Just in C.A.S.E., community awareness safety event on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007. The community event consists of educational exhibits hosted by several departments of the hospital as well as area law enforcement, emergency service personnel and health and human services agencies.
Seniors, adults and children of all ages will enjoy the many interactive and educational exhibits:
Seniors and Adults
Child Finger Printing
New for the 2007 Just in C.A.S.E., this is an educational opportunity for everyone in the family.
Internet Safety
What parents and children should know about surfing the internet. What to watch out for when your child is on the internet and how to prevent them from becoming a victim from online predators. Computers will be set up inside our hospital that allow for interactive scenarios for children, teens and adults. These scenarios are designed to teach what type of information is not acceptable to share on the internet. The exercise teaches them how important it is to report a suspected activity to an authority figure. We’ll teach parents what to watch for-suspicious activities that may indicate your child is in areas of the internet that may put them at risk.
Health & Prevention
We have a variety of free screenings available including cholesterol and glucose checks as well as blood pressure checks. Diabetes education, food and nutrition education and breast cancer risk assessments are available. Try your skills on our Drunk Driving Course and learn how to perform the Heimlich maneuver in the event your child is choking.

Bicycle Safety
We have a bike rodeo where you can learn how to ride safely on our course. (Bikes available for use). Register to win one of two bicycles being given away.
