Pediatric Orthopedic Specialty Care from Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Now Available in Southwest Michigan
A specialist in pediatric orthopedics from Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital has opened practice in collaboration with Southwest Michigan Center for Orthopedic and Sports Medicine and Lakeland HealthCare. The monthly clinic will provide orthopedic care to children with congenital, developmental, infectious and traumatic disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
The clinic will be a great benefit for families in southwest Michigan who previously may have traveled outside their own community for their children’s specialized orthopedic services,
said Loren Hamel, MD, president and CEO, Lakeland HealthCare. It was important to Lakeland that we meet the needs of these families.
The monthly clinic is staffed by Donnie Reinhart, DO, a pediatric orthopaedist at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital based in Grand Rapids. She is board certified in orthopedic surgery.
The pediatric orthopedic clinic will be of great benefit to our patients,
said Kenneth Edwards, MD, of Southwest Michigan Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, and medical director, surgical services, Lakeland HealthCare. The capability to provide this specialized care complements our practice and allows for a single point of service for our community’s orthopedic needs. Continuity of care is enhanced with this relationship with a world-class center like Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.
The clinic is located at the office of Southwest Michigan Center for Orthopedic and Sports Medicine at 183 Peace Boulevard in St. Joseph, Michigan. Patients should call the Grand Rapids office at 616.391.9814 to schedule an appointment.
We are pleased to offer our services to this part of Michigan,
said Matt Davis, vice president, operations, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Lakeland HealthCare is part of our Partners in Children’s Health network. Our affiliation allows us to bring specialty services to patients close to home. We recognize the support of Southwest Michigan Center for Orthopedic and Sports medicine for their role in this collaboration.
