Spectrum Health Offers Expanded Online Health Services

Spectrum Health patients now have even greater access to health information online.

“MySpectrum” is an online patient portal available at http://www.spectrumhealth.org/.  Users of the free online service access their health information using a personal identification number (PIN).

MySpectrum originally offered patients the ability to:

  • View lab results for many common tests
  • E-mail secure messages to their doctor’s office
  • Renew prescriptions
  • Request appointments for routine doctor visits
  • Preregister for some procedures
  • Pay bills for hospital services
  • Track health conditions, allergies, medications and more
  • Access information on health topics of interest
  • Obtain pricing for common procedures

This year, expanded capabilities allow users to:

  • Set up a family account
  • Access benefits and eligibility information from Priority Health
  • View growth charts for children
  • See immunization records

With family accounts, MySpectrum users can access health information for other patients, such as their children, spouse or parents. Users can request to view information for their children who are younger than 12 years, or for adult patients who are 18 years of age or older. The MySpectrum Proxy Access request form must be completed for children ages 12 and under and for adults ages 18 and older. State and federal patient privacy regulations limit the amount of information that can be released for patients between the ages of 12 and 17.

Spectrum Health also has a free smartphone application – also called MySpectrumTM – that features:

  • Lab test results and appointments
  • Urgent Care wait times
  • Spectrum Health locations
  • Physician information
  • Medical symptoms checklist

Wait times at the five Spectrum Health Urgent Care Centers are available online at www.spectrumhealth.org/urgent or by calling 1.866.SH-URGENT. Urgent care is for situations that are not life threatening. In a medical emergency, people should immediately call 911 and get to a hospital emergency room.
