Spectrum Health Announces Top Baby Names for 2011

Sorry, Jacob and Emma.

After being crowned the most popular baby names for the past two years, they have been displaced this year by Mason and Olivia. Jacob has fallen to No. 4 on the top boys’ names list while Emma slipped to third place for girls.

If it’s any consolation, Emma and Jacob can still claim to be the top names for the past decade, ranking No. 1 in 2010, 2009, 2006, 2004, 2003 and 2002.

The Family Birthplace at Butterworth Hospital delivers more babies than any other hospital in Michigan with 7,312 births in its fiscal year 2011. Of that total, 3,867 were boys and 3,445 were girls.
