Art Show Benefits Artists Living With Traumatic Brain Injury

Spectrum Health Neuro Rehabilitation Services – Residential is hosting their annual art show featuring the work of resident artists who are living with the impact of a severe traumatic brain injury.

View this creative collection of work and meet the artists on Tuesday, November 27, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., on the lower level of Homewards Central, 4130 Kalamazoo Ave. SE in Grand Rapids.

Original artwork, prints of the paintings, 2013 calendars and note cards that feature the art will be available for purchase. All proceeds go to the resident artists and the program.

The Expressive Arts Program is currently offered at two Spectrum Health Continuing Care locations in Grand Rapids, including the Kalamazoo Ave. site and the Rehab and Nursing Center at 750 Fuller Ave.

Spectrum Health Neuro Rehabilitation Services – Residential offers individualized resident-centered services to meet physical, emotional and spiritual needs in a family-like setting. Dealing with the long-term impacts of a severe traumatic brain injury can lead to challenges that require specialized care, compassion, and acceptance. Six barrier-free homes are designed to maximize self-sufficiency, dignity and community integration.
