Spectrum Health Breaks Ground on New Patient Center
Spectrum Health will hold a ceremonial groundbreaking event on Wednesday, April 17, at 4 p.m. on the site of the future Beltline Integrated Care Center (BICC) on the southeast corner of East Beltline (M-37) and 3 Mile Road in Grand Rapids.
The new three-story facility will be 120,000 square feet and will provide space for northeast Grand Rapids Spectrum Health offices, including 200 employees.
“The building is uniquely designed to facilitate true integration of services,” said James M. Tucci, MD, president, Spectrum Health Medical Group. “Patients will receive coordinated care under one roof, without having to travel from office to office. Our providers will be able to communicate and work together more easily which will help their patients.”
A similar facility was opened by Spectrum Health in 2012 at 588 E. Lakewood Boulevard in Holland. Dr. Tucci says that this new building will enhance several elements of that design. The BICC is expected to be completed in the spring of 2014.
The Spectrum Health offices that will move into the new facility are currently located at:
- 4829 East Beltline
- 3264 North Evergreen
- 3322 Beltline Court
- 2855 Michigan Street NE
- 1179 East Paris Avenue
- 3271 Clear Vista Court
- 5378 Plainfield Avenue
Medical services at the new pavilion will include:
- Family Medicine
- Home Medical Equipment
- Imaging
- Internal Medicine
- Laboratory
- Neurosciences
- Pediatrics
- Physical Therapy
- Psychiatry
- Psychology
- Urgent Care
- Visiting Nurse Association

The new building is being designed by Integrated Architecture for potential LEED certification and is being constructed by Elzinga & Volkers.
