Ludington Hospital Cancer and Hematology expands to five days per week

Cancer and hematology patients at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital can now make appointments on Fridays, as operations have expanded from four to five days per week.

The change was implemented to accommodate an increase in the number of patients, and to provide more flexibility, according to Carol Peterson, MD, and Susan Henry, MD, the facility’s physicians.

There have also been minor adjustments to the opening and closing times. The office opens at 8:30 a.m. each weekday. On Monday, Thursday and Friday the office is open until 4:30 p.m. On Tuesdays, they remain open until 5:30 p.m., and on Wednesday the office closes at 1:30 p.m.

Dr. Peterson, the office’s oncologist, previously saw patients in another office, as well as Ludington. She is now full time at the Ludington Hospital. She will see patients every day but Wednesday. Dr. Henry, the facility’s internist, will be in the office on Wednesdays.

“We believe the new hours will allow us to better serve the needs of our patients, in the expanded facility we moved to in the fall of 2013,” said Linda Whitman, office manager.

The office is located on the ground floor of the medical office building attached to the south side of the hospital. The phone number is 231.845.5085.
