Spectrum Health Plans Second Retail-based Walk-In Clinic
Located in the Wyoming Meijer Store
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., July 24, 2019 – People who live near and shop at the newly-renovated Meijer store in Wyoming, Michigan will soon be able to access care conveniently when they shop.
Spectrum Health will open its second Meijer walk-in clinic at the store at 5500 Clyde Park Ave, SW in October 2019. The first such clinic opened last year at the Meijer in Hudsonville and has been very popular with patients.
“We are excited for the opportunity to provide our community with greater access to care in a more simple way,” said Tina Freese Decker, President & CEO, Spectrum Health. “This great partnership with Meijer gives us the ability to care for individuals in a location convenient to their everyday lives.”
“Services in the Wyoming Meijer clinic will be available to everyone. This walk-in clinic will treat non-life-threatening conditions, such as allergies, bumps and bruises or cold and flu symptoms,” said Darryl Elmouchi, MD, chief medical officer, Spectrum Health.
The clinic will see patients who need non-emergent care and will provide summaries back to primary care providers. Services do not include on-site X-rays, stitches or treatment for broken bones. The clinic will be staffed by a physician and two nurse practitioners.
The clinic accepts insurance but will take patients without insurance at a cost of $69 a visit. Hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The clinic also will be open all holidays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. but will be closed on Christmas.
