New Family Medicine Provider Joins Spectrum Health

Brian Wilder, DO, joins United Hospital Medical staff.

Dr. Brian Wilder

Greenville, Mich., January 9, 2020 – As part of his medical residency program, Brian Wilder, DO, elected to spend a month halfway around the world in Kenya, Africa assisting medical students.

That experience sparked an interest in education, leading to his new role as part of the clinical faculty for the family residency program at Spectrum Health United Hospital in Greenville.

“I enjoy the collaborative part of teaching and everyone polling their thoughts together to help determine what’s best for each patient,” Wilder said.

Wilder will split his time between seeing patients and teaching and mentoring residents and medical students as part of the hospital’s 3-year residency program.

The Grand Rapids area native earned his undergraduate degree at Grand Valley State University while competing in cross country and track. He received his medical degree from Michigan State College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2016 and completed his residency training in 2019 with Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.

In addition to education, Dr. Wilder has clinical interests in sports medicine, preventive care and chronic disease management such as treating diabetes and hypertension.

In his free time he enjoys sports, hiking, fly fishing and being outdoors.
