BHSH Spectrum Health West Michigan Awarded Epic Gold Stars Level 10 Designation

Grand Rapids, Mich., Aug. 25, 2022 – BHSH Spectrum Health West Michigan has achieved Epic Gold Stars Level 10 recognition for exceptional utilization of Epic’s digital platform software.

The designation is the highest level of recognition that can be achieved and places Spectrum Health among the top 2% of Epic organizations. By harnessing the Epic technology, Spectrum Health is using state-of-the-art tools to provide the highest level of care to its patients while also improving workflow and efficiency among team members.

Epic’s digital platform software provides automation and connectivity across the health care sector from the patient portal for self-care to remote monitoring. The system stores patients’ personal health information including treatments, procedures, test results, current allergies, medications and more. Patients and providers can access charts, view test results, and read after-visit summaries conveniently and securely.

Epic’s Gold Stars Program provides a scorecard of how effectively an organization is using the system and provides a roadmap for improving clinical and financial outcomes. Gold Stars Level 10 reflects that Spectrum Health has adopted at least 95% of the Epic Gold Star features and is categorized as being a cutting-edge and leading practice in technology use.
