Blood Drive at Spectrum Health on October 8, 2008

Michigan Community Blood Centers (MCBC) will hold their blood drive at Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the MCBC blood bus. The bus will be parked in front of the hospital at 300 North Patterson Road in Reed City. The blood bus will then be moved to the Spectrum Health Evart Clinic (corner of US-10 and 95th in Evart) for a blood drive that will begin at 3:30 p.m. and end at 6:30 p.m.

First time donors are more than welcome. The entire donation process (registration, a brief health screening, blood collection, and time for refreshments) takes 45 to 60 minutes. Did you know that approximately 4.5 million Americans would die each year without life saving blood transfusions? And that every three seconds, someone in this country needs blood? On average, about 38,000 pints of blood are used each day in the United States. On average, one out of every five hospital patients will need blood. Every donated pint of blood will help 3 to 4 people, so don’t delay. Give the gift of life-give blood on October 8, 2008.
