Corewell Health Big Rapids Care Center Opening Celebration on July 27

Patient care will begin Aug. 7

BIG RAPIDS, Mich., July 20, 2023 – The opening of the new $22 million Big Rapids Care Center, part of Corewell Health, is just a few weeks away and the community is invited to the open house celebration.

A ribbon-cutting will occur at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 27, followed by guided tours of the 33,000-square-foot building, which also will house the first urgent care in the Big Rapids area. The family-friendly event will include refreshments and free giveaways.

“We are so excited to welcome our community and first patients into the new state-of-the-art Big Rapids Care Center,” said Andrea Leslie, Corewell Health market leader and president of Big Rapids hospital. “The grand opening represents our dedication to providing easy access to quality health care. The care center was designed with convenience in mind, and will offer multiple services at one location, including the first urgent care in the Big Rapids area.”

Open to patients on Aug. 7, the care center will house Big Rapids Family Medicine, outpatient lab, radiology, outpatient rehabilitation, occupational health and urgent care.

“This is a quantum leap in our growth to better serve local families,” longtime family medicine physician, Dr. Peter Macdonald said. “I’m looking forward to moving in and seeing how our patients react to this beautiful space.”

The Corewell Health Big Rapids Care Center is located at 14755 215th Ave., Big Rapids. The center’s hours of operation are:

Big Rapids Family Medicine

Monday through Thursday, 6:45 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Friday, 7:15 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Urgent Care

Monday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Rehabilitation Services

Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Radiology Imaging Services

Monday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Laboratory Services

Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Occupational Health

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
