Corewell Health Has Most U.S. News & World Report Nationally Recognized Hospitals in Michigan

GRAND RAPIDS and SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Aug. 1, 2023 – Across Michigan, 12 Corewell Health hospitals have been recognized by U.S. News & World Report 2023-2024 Best Hospitals, including three hospitals that earned national recognition for their services. Corewell Health has the most nationally recognized hospitals in the state.

U.S. News & World Report evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals across 15 specialties and 21 procedures and conditions; only 12% of evaluated hospitals were recognized as Best Hospitals. Hospitals awarded a “Best” designation had a specialty in the Top 50, excelling at factors such as clinical outcomes, level of nursing care and patient experience.

U.S. News & World Report nationally recognized Corewell Health’s Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, in the following 10 medical specialties for 2023-24, based on objective measures:

  • Cardiology, Heart & Vascular Surgery – #25
  • Diabetes & Endocrinology – #22 (top ranked in Michigan)
  • Ear, Nose & Throat – #47
  • Gastroenterology & GI Surgery – #32
  • Geriatrics – #34
  • Neurology & Neurosurgery – #23 (top ranked in Michigan)
  • Obstetrics & Gynecology – #28 (top ranked in Michigan)
  • Orthopedics – #41
  • Pulmonology & Lung Surgery – #26
  • Urology – #26

Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, also earned “high performing” recognition in:
