GRAND RAPIDS and SOUTHFIELD, Mich., May 17, 2023 — Corewell Health™ is pleased to announce that Jason McCarthy, M.B.A., PharmD, has been named chief pharmacy officer. In this new role, McCarthy will align pharmacy operations across the system with the goal of greater efficiencies and improved services.

McCarthy previously held leadership roles with Genoa Healthcare and Kaiser Permanente Health Plan. He received his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Maryland, and his doctorate in pharmacy from Howard University in Washington, D.C.
“Jason has a proven track record of strengthening operations, nurturing high-performing teams and improving financial performance. He is a gifted leader and truly cares about the people he leads and the communities he serves,” said Darryl Elmouchi, MD, chief operating officer for Corewell Health. “I’m confident he’ll be a great addition to our organization.”
At Corewell Health, created by the coming together of Spectrum Health and Beaumont Health in 2022, pharmacy services was selected as the first clinical service to undergo integration efforts with the goal of providing care and services that are exceptional, affordable, equitable and simple.
