Corewell Health Zeeland Hospital Earns National Ranking

Hospital named a top performer for quality and safety by Vizient.

ZEELAND, Mich., September 22, 2023 – Corewell Health Zeeland Hospital has been recognized as a top performer in the 2023 Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Ranking by Vizient, Inc., a leading health care performance improvement company.

The hospital ranked seventh out of 333 community hospital members of Vizient and was recognized for demonstrating excellence in delivering high-quality care based on the Vizient Quality and Accountability Study, which has been conducted annually since 2005.

The ranking evaluates hospital performance in six categories: safety, mortality, effectiveness, efficiency, patient centeredness and equity.

The Vizient Quality and Accountability Ranking helps participating hospitals and health systems understand their performance against their peers and identifies structures and processes associated with high performance in quality and safety across a broad spectrum of patient care activity. The recognition period is for work spanning July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.
