Corewell Health’s Grand Rapids Hospitals Earn National Rising Star Award by Vizient for 2023

Award based on patient safety, equity of care and other factors

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Sept 22, 2023 – Corewell Health’s Grand Rapids hospitals — Spectrum Health Butterworth and Blodgett have received a 2023 Rising Star award from Vizient, Inc., a leading health care performance improvement company.

The award recognizes the hospitals for making significant improvement in their year-over-year rankings and scoring in the top quartile in the Vizient Quality and Accountability Ranking.

Academic hospitals identified as Rising Star rose at least 20 positions from the prior year in the annual Vizient Quality and Accountability Ranking and scored in the top 25 among academic hospitals.

The annual ranking assesses data from participating academic hospitals across the U.S. to measure performance in six domains: patient safety, mortality, effectiveness, efficiency, patient centeredness and equity of care. The recognition period is for work from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.
