August 15, 2023

GREENVILLE, Mich., August 15, 2023 – Corewell Health’s Spectrum Health Greenville Hospital awarded seven $1,000 scholarships to local graduating high school seniors who are planning to enter a career in health care. The annual scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, community involvement and the student’s acceptance to an accredited college or university to pursue a health care degree.

“We are pleased to announce the hard-working recipients of the health care scholarships for 2023 and to highlight each of their educational journeys,” said Shelly Westbrook, director, Spectrum Health Foundation Greenville and Kelsey Hospitals. “These scholarships offer an opportunity to offset the cost of tuition and encourage aspiring students in our community. We are proud to support the goals of those who aim to contribute to the future of health care.”

The recipients for 2023, all graduates of local high schools, are:

• Kendal Gould, a Tri County High School graduate, who will pursue a degree from Grand Valley State University to become a physician’s assistant.

• Lindsey Olger, a Central Montcalm High School graduate, who will attend Grand Valley State University for a nursing degree.

• Siera Merlington, a Greenville High School graduate, who will pursue a medical office administration degree from Montcalm Community College.
