Eat Right and Move More with Weight Management Program at Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital
ZEELAND, Mich., December 28, 2015 – Feel like you’re struggling to find balance with your weight and health? You are not alone. Establishing healthy, sustainable habits can be a challenge, especially if you don’t know where to start. Take the first step and join Healthy Weighs to Live, a weight management program offered at Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital. The program begins Tuesday, January 12 to March 9 and will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the DeWitt Professional Office Building.
In this program, participants work with a registered dietitian to customize a healthy eating plan and a health fitness specialist who teaches the fundamentals of exercise and provides a progressive group exercise. The program includes a pre and post biometric screening (height, weight, blood pressure, and circumference measurements) to provide baseline data, one hour of nutrition education followed by one hour of a fitness class.
“The program focuses on modifying eating and exercise behaviors to help reduce body weight, improve risk factors and reduce the likelihood of chronic disease,” said Healthy Weighs coordinator Kelly Adkins. “They will discover healthy habits and learn how to apply the tools provided to improve health and enable weight loss in safe, realistic and sustainable way.”
The cost for the class is $60 per person or $90 per couple. Deadline to register is Friday, January 8, 2016. For more information and to see if this program is right for you call 616.748.3651.
