Elisevich Named Spectrum Health Medical Group Co-Chief of Neurosciences Department

Spectrum Health Medical Group announced today that Kost Elisevich, MD, PhD, has been named co-chief of its department of neurosciences.

Tucci, MD, MMM, president, Spectrum Health Medical Group. “There are very few medical professionals of Dr. Elisevich’s caliber in the country. He is a nationally recognized epileptologist who has dedicated his professional life to realizing a vision which we share—providing top quality neurological services, adding to our store of medical knowledge, and training new generations of physicians.”

Elisevich will serve as co-chief with Brien Smith, MD. He comes to Spectrum Health from Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit where he served as senior staff neurologist in the department of neurological surgery, and surgical director of the comprehensive epilepsy program. He earned his medical degree at University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. Elisevich is a well-known medical researcher and neurological surgeon throughout the United States and Canada.

The Spectrum Health Medical Group currently employs more than 500 physicians and mid-level providers, including nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
