Glucose Meter Upgrade Day

A glucose meter (or glucometer) is only as good as the accuracy of the information it provides. Many factors can affect the accuracy of a glucose test, such as the size and quality of the blood sample, dirt or humidity, and even the age of the test strips. That’s why it’s especially important to have your glucose meter checked to make sure it is working properly.

Great Lakes Medical Supply, Bayer and Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital are teaming up to provide an opportunity for free testing of glucose meters on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital’s Occupational Health Services location at 219 E. Church Street, Reed City.

For the last 30 years, glucose meters have been instrumental in helping to manage diabetes by providing quick, convenient testing for levels of glucose in the blood. Benefits of accurate testing include a reduction in the occurrence rate and severity of long-term complications from hyperglycemia as well as a reduction in the short-term, potentially life-threatening complications of hypoglycemia.

Learn the latest in glucose monitoring technology, receive answers to your questions and training for your glucose meter. You can even get a free check up for your glucose monitor to see if it is working properly and providing you with accurate information. No appointment is necessary. Just stop by the Church Street location for this free service sponsored by Great Lakes Medical Supply, Bayer and Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital.
