Harvest Gathering provides food to those in need
Employees at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital (SHLH) provided 338 pounds of food in the annual statewide Harvest Gathering food drive this year.
In addition, employees donated over $2,000 in cash, through dress-down day contributions, a bake sale, an auction, and other activities. Local businesses also joined the effort, with Floracraft, Kilwins, Wreaths by Design and Giggles Goodies donating items to help with raising funds. The monetary donations will be used to purchase additional food.
The donations from SHLH will go to a variety of local agencies for distribution to Mason County residents in need of assistance.
The Michigan Health and Hospitals Association (MHA) organizes the fall food drive, which raises food and funds for Michigan’s emergency food response. At the Ludington Hospital, the Business Office staff organizes and leads the Harvest Gathering each year.
