Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Announces New Nursing Leadership Roles

Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital today announced two new nursing leadership positions. Jeni Wincek, MSN, RN, has been named as the nursing director of pediatrics. She will provide leadership for inpatient nursing units. Joan Rikli, MSN, RN, was named as nursing director of critical care services. She will provide leadership for the neonatal center, the pediatric intensive care unit, the blood management program and pediatric sedation services.

Wincek joined Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in 2007 as a clinical nurse specialist focusing on research in the pediatric intensive care unit. Her prior experience includes nursing leadership roles at Memorial Children’s Hospital of South Bend, Goshen General Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Wincek received her master’s degree in nursing from the Medical College of Wisconsin with a specialty in critical care.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Alabama – Birmingham.

Rikli joined Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in 2002 as the director of neonatal services. Prior experience includes leadership roles at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan and the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She earned a master’s degree in nursing and a pediatric nurse practitioner degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, a member of Spectrum Health, is a Grand Rapids-based hospital serving children throughout Michigan.
