Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Welcomes Marketing and Communications Director

Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital today announced the appointment of Thomas J. Hanley, APR, as marketing and communications director. Hanley will plan, direct and coordinate all marketing activities for Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital and work to integrate business development strategies into marketing communication initiatives for the hospital.

“We are delighted that Tom has joined our team,” said Bob Connors, M.D., president, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. “His experience in children’s health care will prove invaluable to us as we move forward with becoming one of the nation’s leading children’s hospitals.”

Prior to joining Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, Hanley spent 18 years at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut as public relations director. He was responsible for all marketing, communications and public relations efforts for the hospital. Hanley also has experience at Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut, and as a corporate communications officer with the Society for Savings, also in Hartford.

Hanley holds a bachelor’s degree in government from Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts. He is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America.
