Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Welcomes Nurse Executive

Shari Schwanzl Joins Leadership Team

Shari Schwanzl, RN, BSN, MBA, joined Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital as vice president, nursing services. Schwanzl is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the children’s hospital nursing services and programs.

She brings 20 years of significant nursing leadership and children’s hospital experience to this position. Schwanzl most recently served as chief nursing officer at Flower Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio, where she was responsible for administration and oversight for the delivery of nursing care in all inpatient and outpatient areas. Previously Schwanzl was vice president, patient care services at Toledo Children’s Hospital.

Schwanzl holds a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing from Bowling Green State University and a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in health care administration from the University of Findlay, in Findlay, Ohio.
