Hospital Auctions Quilt for Cancer Services

Spectrum Health-Reed City Hospital invites the public to place a bid in the silent auction to benefit cancer services. The 91×91 inch quilt is a reproduction of an antique quilt completed in 1846. The fabric captured historical detail in an effort to maintain the warmth and balance of the original version. A talented local quilter donated the piece to the facility in an effort to raise funds for cancer patients and their families.

“We are so thankful for this wonderful opportunity to raise funds for cancer services,” says Christie Carlson, fund development coordinator. “We also hope this special event raises awareness that gifts to our hospital – both large and small – ensure that the latest technology, best-trained medical professionals, and essential programs and services are available to cancer patients when they’re needed.”

Some Reed City businesses have joined the cause by offering to display the quilt at their location. To place your bid, visit the quilt at one of the following locations:

  • November 17-21 – Huntington National Bank
  • November 24-28 – Lake Osceola State Bank
  • December 1-5 – Pere Marquette Catering
  • December 8-12 – Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital
  • December 15 – Auction Close at 10am
