International Art Exhibit Visits Reed City

Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital invites you to come and be inspired by Lilly Oncology On Canvas, an international art exhibition showcasing 50 pieces of art honoring the physical and emotional journeys people face when confronted by a cancer diagnosis. It invites people from the U.S. and Puerto Rico diagnosed with any type of cancer, as well as their families, friends, caregivers and healthcare providers, to express, through art and narrative, the life-affirming changes that give the cancer journey meaning.

The 2008 art collection is touring hospitals and cancer centers throughout 2009 and 2010, inspiring others along the way. The public is invited to a special opening of this free public exhibition on November 17, from 5:00 ‘ 7:00 p.m at the Crossroads Radiation Therapy Center, located at 4499 220th Street in Reed City. Light hors d’ oeuvres will be served. Attendees will have an opportunity to enter a drawing to win copies of a 200-page commemorative book. The exhibit will be on display through November 30.

Lilly Oncology On Canvas is now calling for entries ‘ from now through June 2010 ‘ for its 2010 competition. Last year, a total of 26 prizes were awarded to 20 cancer charities selected by the 19 winners in various categories.
