Jacob, Emma Remain Top Baby Names at Spectrum Health

Jacob and Emma continue to be the most popular names for babies born at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital. The Family Birthplace at Butterworth Hospital delivers more babies than any other hospital in Michigan with 7,306 births in its fiscal year 2010.

Emma and Jacob were the top names for the decade, ranking No. 1 in 2010, 2009, 2006, 2004, 2003 and 2002.

The most popular baby names in 2008 were Olivia and Ethan. In 2007, Addison and Ethan were all the rage. Emma won top honors in 2005 for the girls, and Ethan and Ryan tied for the boys at 56 each. In 2001, with spotty data, the top girl’s names were Alexis and Elizabeth, and the top boy’s name was Jacob.
