Local TWIG group presents donation to Ludington Hospital benefitting area patients
March 3, 2022
The TWIG auxiliary recently made a donation of $8,000 to Spectrum Health Foundation Ludington Hospital to assist with a variety of hospital projects such as patient and family transport assistance, the Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital Cancer Center, and meals for hospital employees.
TWIG is an acronym for Together We Inspire Generosity. It involves many different people who have talents in a variety of art forms and crafting and who use those talents to raise funds that are then given to the hospital for needed projects. Last fall, the TWIG group put on its third annual holiday bazaar in Ludington featuring handmade items such as pillows, scarves, jewelry, edibles, knitted items, quilts and home goods. From this event, the funds were raised that made the recent $8,000 donation possible.
“Our local TWIG auxiliary is made up of talented and generous individuals who want to work for the greater good,” said Kaley Petersen, MS/OTRL, director of Foundation and Community Services at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital. “I want to give a special thanks to the TWIG executive members and their efforts in coordinating the annual bazaar to support our local hospital and patients. The donation will help us with some very worthy projects at the hospital.”
More artists and crafters are always welcome to join the TWIG groups. Those who are interested in joining a TWIG group may send an email to twigshlh@yahoo.com.
