Make a Difference – Consider Volunteering Over the Holidays or At Any Time Throughout the Upcoming Year

Taking a few hours to help others during the holidays or at any time throughout the year will make you feel great. Volunteering gives you an opportunity to change people’s lives and your own. It offers many benefits including learning a new skill, being a part of a community, meeting new people and getting life experience. Check out these new volunteer opportunities at Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital. You can make a difference!

Patient Escort
Directs patients, transports patients in wheelchairs, and helps patients in from the parking lot. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m to noon is the most critical need, but they could use help until 4 p.m.

Courier
Transports medications and specimens between the pharmacy, lab, phlebotomy and infusion therapy. Monday through Friday. Couriers needed for both first shift (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and second shift (5 p.m. to 8 p.m.).

Reading to Elders
The Rehab and Nursing Center is looking for volunteers to read to one or two of their elders. Once or twice a week is the time commitment.

Adopt An Elder
Are you interested in just visiting, playing cards or games with an elder each week? Then this is for you!

Volunteers are also needed for:

  • Pet Therapy
  • Music
  • Art
  • Clerical
