Mental Health First Aid Course Offered Now Offered at Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital
ZEELAND, Mich., January 26, 2016 – Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital will partner with the Mental Health Foundation (MHF) of West Michigan to offer a Youth Mental Health First Aid course.
Mental health needs are a high priority for this community and Zeeland Community Hospital is dedicated to providing education and resources to help increase access to information and treatment.
The target audience for this class includes law enforcement officers, hospital emergency department personnel, school counselors, teachers, faith community leaders and other primary point of contact individuals. These groups are on the front lines when it comes to handling individuals with mental health concerns. The class will teach risk factors, warning signs, and information on depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis and substance abuse.
The first course will begin on March 29, 2016, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will be located in the DeWitt Building of Zeeland Community Hospital.
