Belding, Mich., February 4, 2020 – Thomas Stout, DO, returns to his medical roots as a family medicine provider and has joined Spectrum Health Belding Family Medicine.

Dr. Stout practiced family medicine in the Lansing area for almost 30 years, but most recently worked for Spectrum Health Urgent Care Centers in Grand Rapids.

Dr. Stout enjoys working with patients of all ages and delivering comprehensive care.

“I’m very interested in health maintenance, keeping people in good shape in addition to helping turn things around when they’re not feeling well,” he said.

He also finds developing relationships rewarding and is eager to get to know families in the Belding area. Dr. Stout is now accepting new patients.

A Battle Creek area native, Dr. Stout earned his undergraduate and master’s degree from Western Michigan University and his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1982.

Dr. Stout has two sons: Michael, a physician, and Stephen, a pharmacist. He also has five grandchildren.

He enjoys the outdoors, especially playing golf and fly fishing for trout, steelhead and salmon. He likes the challenge of fly fishing.

“It’s an adventure,” he said. “You’re not in control until they’re in the net, and then it’s questionable.”
