Reduced Price Car Seats and Booster Seats Available at Free Safety Event

Parents and children are invited to attend the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital and Safe Kids Greater Grand Rapids 2010 Child Passenger Safety Day sponsored by State Farm Insurance on Wednesday, June 23 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The free event will include:

Car Seat and Booster Seat Check

Certified child passenger safety technicians will inspect car seats and booster seats to ensure they are properly installed. A limited number of reduced price car seats and booster seats will be available.

Smokehouse

Children can look at a model house to practice identifying dangerous fire hazards. They can also practice leaving a smoky house and calling 911.   

Meet a Fireman, Police Offer and Ambulance Driver

Children will have an opportunity to interact with various public safety officers.

Crafts and Games

The Grand Rapids Art Museum will provide crafts for children. A bean bag toss and other games will also be available.

The event is located at the Wyoming State Farm Insurance Claim Office at 985 Gezon Parkway. 

Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, a member of Spectrum Health, is a Grand Rapids-based hospital serving children throughout Michigan. A teaching hospital, it includes more than 150 pediatric physicians with specialized training in providing medical and surgical care to children in more than 40 pediatric specialties.
