Spectrum Health Announces Financial Leadership Transition

Effective January 1, 2014, Michael P. Freed will assume the role of Executive Vice President, Spectrum Health System, and President & CEO, Priority Health. Freed has been serving as both Executive Vice President of Corporate Resources/Chief Financial Officer of Spectrum Health System and President & CEO of Priority Health since May 2012 and has been the Chief Financial Officer of Spectrum Health System since its inception in 1997.

Ronald J. Knaus, current Vice President, Finance, Spectrum Health Hospital Group, will be promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Spectrum Health System. In this position, Knaus will have financial responsibility for all of Spectrum Health and its subsidiaries.

Spectrum Health is a not-for-profit health system, based in West Michigan, offering a full continuum of care through the Spectrum Health Hospital Group, which is comprised of 11 hospitals including Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital; 173 ambulatory and service sites; 960 advanced practice providers and employed physicians including members of the Spectrum Health Medical Group and West Michigan Heart physician groups; and Priority Health, a health plan.
