Spectrum Health Awards Two Area Students with Scholarships

Spectrum Health Reed City Campus is pleased to announce the recipients of two $500 education scholarships for 2007. Ms. Miranda Nichols of Evart High School and Ms. Chelsea Wirth of Evart High School won top honors out of fourteen applicants from school districts including Pine River, Baldwin, Reed City, Evart and Chippewa Hills.

Factors in the selection of Nichols and Wirth included academic performance, demonstrated work habits, community outreach initiatives, varied extra-curricular activities and a career goal in health care sciences.

Miranda Nichols has been accepted at Saginaw Valley State University and will become a full time student in the fall of August 2007. Her career plans are to obtain her BSN and find employment as a registered nurse in an acute care hospital setting. Miranda is the daughter of Char Beebe of Evart.

Chelsea Wirth has been accepted at Lake Superior State University to obtain her BSN in nursing. She would also like to work in an acute care hospital setting. After graduation, Chelsea plans on furthering her education to earn a Masters degree to become a Nurse Practitioner. Chelsea is the daughter of Doug and Melanie Wirth of Evart.
