Spectrum Health Employees Raise Money and Awareness for a Good Cause
Too few people realize that heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women (and men), but the good news is heart disease can often be prevented. Spreading the Go Red for Women message “Love Your Heart” raises awareness of heart disease and empowers women to reduce their risk.
Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital and their ten service sites throughout the area offered an additional incentive for employees to participate by allowing them to wear red and jeans to work on Wear Red Day, 2.1.08 in exchange for a $5 donation to the American Heart Association. This is the 4th year that employees have participated, raising in excess of $2,000 for the American Heart Association.
