Spectrum Health Employees Volunteer for Martin Luther King Day

Spectrum Health is observing the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday by offering employees volunteer opportunities on Monday, January 19.

More than 200 Spectrum Health employees have committed to volunteering on this day of service at locations throughout the health system’s service area in Big Rapids, Belding, Fremont, Grand Rapids, Greenville, Holland, Lakeview, Ludington, Reed City and Southfield.

“Spectrum Health recognizes the importance of giving back to the communities we serve,” said Nicole McConnell, director, employee lifecycle, inclusion and diversity, Spectrum Health. “We commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of service and his positive impact on our nation by strengthening our relationships within these communities through the gift of time.”

McConnell noted that activities will range from working in community centers and food kitchens to building bookshelves and beds frames at a summer camp. Volunteers will be working throughout the day.
