Spectrum Health Hosts Free Seminar on Cataracts

Eyesight is no exception when it comes to changes we experience as we get older. By age 80, more than half of all Americans either have a cataract or have had cataract surgery.

If you have noticed cloudy or blurred vision, colors seem faded or you are experiencing poor night vision, you may have a cataract. Although the risk of cataracts increases as we age, older adults are not the only ones at risk.

Marko Habekovic, MD, ophthalmologist, Spectrum Health Medical Group, will present Cataracts: Getting a Clearer Picture on Thursday, June 14, at 6:30 p.m. He will address how and when cataracts form, who is at risk, when to seek care and current interventions.

The seminar will be held at the Spectrum Health Fred and Lena Meijer Heart Center, 100 Michigan Street NE, Grand Rapids, Rooms 8811 and 8812. This event is free to the public, however, registration is required. Call 616.267.2626 and select option 4.
